Mick Williams
Inspired by the stark perception of Pablo Picasso, the linear grace of Frank Lloyd Wright, the graphic cripsness of Maxfield Parrish, and the eloquent color of Vincent Van Gogh, Williams pours his spirit into his fine art. Drawing upon his background as both graphic artist and syndicated cartoonist, Williams depicts scenes rich with unsurpassed vitality and vibrancy.
For Williams, the creative process begins with the essence of a singular idea, progresses through a series of loose sketches into more detailed drawings, then culminates into a multi-layered composition that captures far more than a simple scene.
Williams was honored to create a series of paintings to represent the goals of Champions of Hope, an international youth service organization with roots in more than 200 countries. He presented these works to the charity’s founders during a global ceremony at the Israeli Embassy in Washington, D.C. Other charitable groups have sought his talents to create exclusive paintings, including the Murphy-Harbst House for Fragile Children. He has recieved many awards and honors, including having his work selected to represent the 2006 Western Maryland Blues Festival.
Much of his inspiration comes from the place we call home—Frederick! In his beautiful watercolors, you will find familiar scenes of clocktowers, downtown streets and shops, spires, and more. McGuire Fine Arts carries both original and limited edition fine art prints of Mick Williams’ work. If you are interested in ordering, please don’t hesitate to call us! We try to keep this website as up to date as possible with what is in the gallery, but if something is on this site and not on the gallery premises, we can place a special order for you.
