Carol Bucklin

Carol began her career at the early age of 7 in her mother’s studio, painting in oil on 3”x5” canvases. Her natural talent came from both parents; her mother, a painter, and her father, an illustrator. She attended Montgomery College in Rockville, Maryland for 2 years before pursuing a career in graphic design and illustration.

In the early 1990’s Carol was chosen to provide wildlife illustrations for the World Wildlife Fund fundraising campaign. At the same time, she also released a successful limited edition print of the Red Brick Courthouse in Rockville, Maryland.

In the late 1990’s, she opened Scowcroft Studios, Inc with her business partner Jamie Scowcroft. Scowcroft Studios was an architectural rendering firm where Carol held the title of president for over 12 years. In 2009, she decided to go back into her studio to pursue her love of oil painting and illustration. She very recently produced a body of work of traditional miniature pieces including landscapes, portraits of fruits, vegetables and florals.

Carol is a life-long resident of Maryland who lives and produces art on a small horse farm near the town of Woodsboro with her husband John, 3 horses, and 3 cats.
